Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

Luxury Travel Advisor recently uncovered a hidden gem for VIP families looking for a resort off-the-beaten path in Mexico’s pacific—Villa La Estancia.

Although the spacious resort houses plenty of rooms, the personal service and compact layout of Villa La Estancia give it an almost boutique-like feel.

Top digs for families here are the Three-Bedroom Oceanfront Suites. Note: These are room Nos. 1501, 1401, 1301, 1201, 3401, 3301, 3201 and 3101. The suites have two master bedrooms, each one complemented by its own spa bathroom with marble shower, whirlpool tub and travertine marble. Nice Touch: Terraces, complete with wet bar, lead off the master bedrooms and off the living/dining room. There’s also a roomy kitchen and washer/dryer. Hint: Butler service is available for all rooms upon request.

For room requests, advisors should contact Miguel Velasco ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-9700, ext. 6000), rooms division manager, or Pablo Yanez ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-8117), regional reservations manager for Villa Group Resorts.

Three-Bedroom Oceanfront Villa
The Living Room of the resort’s Three-Bedroom Oceanfront Villa.

The resort features a 16,420-square-foot spa. We were told the most requested treatments are the Four Layer Facial and the Aromatherapy Massage. Hint: For the Four Layer Facial, ask for masseuse Rosaura Jacome, while Virginia Alvier is recommended for the Aromatherapy Massage. Advisors should book treatments for VIPs at least two days in advance. Nice Touch: Of the spa’s 19 treatment rooms, six come with a hydrotherapy tub.

Contact Spa Director Ricardo Jimenez ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-1400, ext. 759) with any queries.

There are two 18-hole golf courses located nearby—El Tigre, which was designed by Von Hagge, and Flamingos Golf, which was designed by Percy Clifford.

Advisors can arrange tee times by contacting Head Concierge Oscar Perez ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-9700, ext. 5020).

The resort’s La Casona Restaurant is the only option for a sit-down dinner. It is open to locals. Recommend the crab cake and the Moroccan duck to your clients. Note: Advisors should reserve table for VIPs at least a day in advance. The resort’s outdoor pool bar/swim up is also a great place to enjoy a beverage and a light snack.

Hint: The friendliest waiter we had during our stay there was a gentleman named “J.J.”

For reservations or specific menu needs, reach out to Kuniberg Lengger ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-1400, ext. 694), food and beverage director.

La Parrilla
La Parrilla, the dining area at the villa’s pool bar provides a casual alternative to the more formal signature restaurant.

For weddings, the resort can arrange everything from rehearsal dinners to a farewell brunch. Nice Touch: For rehearsal dinners, bridal parties and other events, Villa La Estancia can also arrange a beach bonfire with s’mores or corns to roast as well as private parties at the resort’s penthouses.

For all wedding inquiries, contact Wedding Sales Manager Rebeca Gonzalez ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-8100, ext. 726).

Note: The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is roughly 30 minutes from the hotel. Note: Private transportation in a luxury vehicle can be arranged. Tip: For private jets, VIPs can use the facilities of Aerotron, which is right next to the commercial airport.

For your VIPs who want to bring home swanky keepsakes, recommend the bustling, nearby shopping towns of Sayulita and Bucerias. Here, VIPs can get their hands on anything from handmade silver jewelry to Huichol Indian embroidery to paintings and sculptures by Mexican and international artists.

Reach out to General Manager Christian Carlsson ([email protected]; 011-52-322-226-8100, ext. 600) for more information on how to pamper your jet-setters.
