What’s On in D.C.: Green Fair at the Fairmont Georgetown

Fairmont Washington DC

In the nation’s capital this weekend? Head over to the Fairmont Washington D.C. at 2401 M Street in Georgetown on Friday, August 17th for the third annual Green Fair. The hotel pulls out all the stops in showcasing the environmental initiatives of local D.C. organizations like BikeShare, Farmers Markets, National Geographic, and CarsToGo. Fairmont has won awards for its green program, and the Fairmont Pittsburgh—a LEED Gold certified hotel—will also be there.

Free and open to the public, the event will be held from 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the hotel’s Colonnade Room. The best part of all? DailyCandy points out that attendees will be treated to honey tastings from the hotel’s rooftop hives (a major trend among luxury hotels these days!) Plus, there will be vegetable dips seasoned with herbs from the hotel’s garden.
