La Reserve Geneva

Tis the season for magical decorations in Europe’s palace hotels. From designer Christmas trees in London to haute couture-style pastries in Paris, the hotels are putting on a show for the festive season. One of the coolest is the ice skating rink at La Réserve in Geneva.

Available until February 22, 2015, the hotel’s Winter Lodge is a chic spot designed in an alpine style with magical décor (and quite a few fur throws for warding off the chill). Guests can take a spin on the ice skating rink, even hone their skating skills with lessons from the pros, while the restaurant serves up festive classics in the evenings from Wednesday through Saturday. There’s also a “Live Cooking Brunch” on Sunday that’s quite popular. Reservations are essential (tel: + 41 22 959 59 92 ).

Set in a 10-acre park on the shores of Lake Geneva, La Réserve has 85 rooms, 17 suites, five restaurants, and a destination spa. In big news for 2015, La Réserve will expand its family with an exclusive Paris hotel (there are already swanky Parisian apartments in the collection).
