Detox With These New Spas and Packages

The holidays have ended and now comes the needed detox. We suggest heading to the spa to rejuvenate the mind and body. We’ve rounded up the need-to-know spa offerings from Los Angeles to Dubai. Here are our suggestions.

New Spas To Visit

Hotel Le Cep

Is it worth traveling just for the spa? We think so. Here are the new spas that have wooed us recently.

As Mary Winston Nicklin reported for us, Hotel Le Cep, a member of Small Luxury Hotels in Burgundy, recently opened Marie de Bourgogne Spa. This new relaxation center focuses on different components like fitness, relaxation and well being. We suggest visiting the H2O zone, which is complete with a sensorial shower, sauna, a tea area and more.

As for treatments, we like the idea of booking the Marie de Bourgogne ritual. This treatment lasts more than two hours and includes exfoliation, a body mask on a flotation bed and a customized Le Cep massage, which we hear is the signature massage option. For those who want an experience that involves more fitness, take a spin on a water bike. This bike ride will help circulation and shape silhouettes.

Guerlain Spa

Headed to Dubai this winter? Consider checking out the new Guerlain Spa at One&Only The Palm. Here, guests will retreat into one of the nine Spa Suites. There is also the opportunity to relax in outdoor gardens and exclusive treatment areas like the spa reflection pool that is bound to provide rejuvenation. We think this is the spa for couples, as the Couples Suite provides all the romantic essentials. Sweethearts can relax in the treatment room that comes complete with a double scrub room and shower, two private soaking tubs and a private relaxation area. Need more privacy? Enter through the exclusive lobby.

Sri Panwa

Rainforests and tropical waters – that sounds relaxing. If you agree, head to Sri panwa in Phuket, Thailand. Now, this isn’t a totally new spa, but it is getting a new look, set to debut soon. We hear, the revamped spa is being built like a traditional Chino-Portuguese residence, complete with private Jacuzzis for each treatment room (yes, please). There are other water-friendly places to relax like hot and cold plunge pools, vitality pools and rain showers.

Winter Spa Packages

We like the idea of either embracing the winter season or trying to forget it all together – both are bound to be crowd pleasers. To please both sides of thought, JW Marriott Chicago and The Spa at JW Chicago have new spa offerings available. JW Marriott Chicago

Winter Wonderland Bliss ($405)

Inspired by Joffrey Ballet’s “The Nutcracker,” guests can enjoy a complete Nutcracker experience while hydrating and nourishing the body. The spa package includes a Warm Sugar Cookie Scrub Body Envelopment followed by a hydrating application of Sweet Cream Body Milk. The journey continues with the Sugar Plum Signature Facial with generous applications of cranberry pomegranate masque finished with a Sugar Plum Whipped Moisturizer. As a finale, guests will sip on a rich hot cocoa while enjoying a seasonal Warm Butter Rum Pedicure. We must admit it doesn't sound like much of a detox, but it sounds relaxing.

HIBERNATION Package ($320)

The experience begins with an 80-minute Moroccan Oil Hydrating Hammam Experience enhanced with a Warm Stone Melter and a scalp massage. A healthy meal pre-selected from the winter spa cuisine menu will be served followed by an Express Manicure and Pedicure to prepare guests to brave the winter day again.
