There's a new place to cool your heels on a layover at JFK: Etihad Airways has opened a new First and Business Class Lounge at the New York City airport, marking the second airport lounge from the airline in the United States.

Located close to the gate area after the security checkpoint in International Terminal 4, the lounge offers bespoke cocktails and mocktails developed by London-based beverage consultancy Fluid Movement, plus a la carte and buffet dining options in the lounge's dining area.

We hear Chicago-based architecture firm Gensler and global brand consultants Landor Associates designed the lounge, which also has custom furnishings by Boss, restrooms with showers and changing rooms, dedicated male and female ablution and prayer rooms, a library and luggage storage.

For real high-fliers -- guests traveling in The Residence by Etihad -- a private lounge exclusively for Residence guests is available. Guests traveling in First Apartments or Business Studios also have access to the First and Business Class Lounge pre-flight.
