Two New AmaWaterways Vessels Take to Europe's Rivers

Cruisers hitting Europe’s rivers next year have two new vessels to look forward to. We hear that AmaWaterways will launch new new ships: AmaSerena and AmaVista. With the launch of these new ships, AmaWaterways is introducing the line’s first connecting staterooms. The vessels will join their sister ships - AmaReina, AmaPrima, AmaCerto and the new AmaSonata, which was christened last month - for Danube, Main and Rhine sailings beginning next spring.

The 164-passenger AmaSerena and AmaVista feature spacious rooms with Twin Balconies. A new feature is the line’s connecting cabins with both vessels featuring a number of joint staterooms. Rooms are also equipped with the line’s entertainment on-demand system.

In addition, guests onboard AmaSerena and AmaVista will have access to amenities like a salon and massage services, fitness room, sun decks and heated swimming pools with swim-up bars. Complimentary unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks are available with lunch and dinner; and complimentary bottled water is provided daily in all staterooms.

AmaSerena’s 2015 itineraries include The Enchanting Rhine, which is a seven-night journey that kicks off in Amsterdam. Stops include the Gothic cathedral in Cologne, the German university town of Heidelberg and medieval Strasbourg. This itinerary also features two special themed itineraries. The Wine Cruise is ideal for oenophiles, spotlighting Europe’s wine regions and features onboard lectures and tastings hosted by wine expert Christopher Silva of St. Francis Winery & Vineyards. The Jewish Heritage Cruise gives guests the opportunity to visit synagogues, museums and other significant sights in Jewish history and culture with excursions to Nuremberg Palace of Justice, Vienna’s Jewish Museum and more.

AmaVista will take passengers on seven- and 14-night itineraries in 2015, including Tulip Time Cruise and Magnificent Europe. Tulip Time sails the Dutch and Belgian waterways on a seven-night sailing. Guests can explore Antwerp and Ghent. The Magnificent Europe cruise is a 14-night journey from Amsterdam to Budapest along three rivers and through five countries. Guests will sail the Rhine to Cologne and take in the Main-Danube canal. The voyage continues with visits to the capitals of Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.
