Fairmont to Expand Luxury Portfolio in Morocco and Saudi Arabia

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced, at the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference, that  the brand plans to expand its luxury portfolio with the signing of two new luxury hotel developments in Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

The two new projects, Fairmont Taghazout Bay, Morocco and Fairmont Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, are both scheduled to open before 2020.

Fairmont Taghazout Bay is set to open in 2019. This seaside resort will sit on 1.9M square feet of beachfront, adjacent to the 18-hole golf course designed by Kyle Phillips, which was completed in 2014. The resort will boast traditional guestrooms and 52 branded villas, which will be released for sale later this year.

The will be ample meeting space (27,000 square feet) and a Fairmont spa with fitness facilities. Guests can dine at an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, specialty restaurant and beach pool bar and grill.

Getting There: Fairmont Taghazout is located a short drive from the international airport of Agadir as well as a main highway system. The hotel is about 155 miles from Marrakech and 279 miles from Casablanca.

Fairmont Al Khobar is set to open in 2020 and will be situated in Al Khobar on the coast of the Arabian Gulf. This region, together with the neighboring cities of Dammam and Dhahran, form the Dammam Metropolitan Area, the capital of the Eastern Province.

Guests can expect a selection of guestrooms and 12 serviced residences. There will also be 43,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest ballroom in the province. While visiting, guests will be able to dine at the lobby lounge, a specialty restaurant and gourmet pastry café. Note: A range of wellness facilities and a spa will also be available.  

As for the location, the hotel will be located in a high-end commercial area of the city between the Al Khobar Corniche and the Central Business District. Fairmont Al Khobar will be surrounded by parks, restaurants and shopping centers.

Getting There:  The King Fahd Causeway, the city’s major transport route directly connected to neighboring Bahrain, will be about 10 minutes away from the hotel, while King Fahd International Airport is just a short distance away.
