Looking to fly to the Middle East in style? Check this out: Qatar Airways is offering a preview of its A380-800 First and Business Class onboard lounge and bathroom interiors.
The onboard lounge of Qatar Airways’ A380 is a top place to relax with a friend and enjoy a drink. (Nice touch: We hear the mood lighting system is designed to help passengers feel refreshed when they head back to their seats.)
The First Class bathrooms, meanwhile, have been customized to create a "spa-like" environment. The large sinks maximize space, and there is plenty of room for changing into pajamas on overnight flights.
The airline is due to receive its first A380 (the first of an expected 13) soon, and it will be deployed on the Doha – London Heathrow route (one of the airline's busiest) on June 17.
Qatar Airways will also get the first of 80 Airbus A350s on order later this year, and is enhancing select A320 and A330 planes by adding lie-flat Business Class seats.
Over the next few months, the airline's network will grow further with Al Hofuf, Saudi Arabia (May 15), Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Turkey (May 22, 2014), Edinburgh, Scotland (May 28, 2014), Miami, USA (June 10, 2014), Haneda, Japan (June 18, 2014), Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (July 1, 2014) and Djibouti (July 27, 2014).
