The Thompson Miami Beach just celebrated its official opening, and we got our hands on some renderings of the new beachfront property.
Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the new hotel is housed in a historic Art Deco tower restored by Kobi Karp Architects.
All of the hotel's guestrooms and suites offer sitting areas, 1950s-inspired beds, retro bathrooms crafted with nautical accents, and a vanity space with an oversized mirror and terrazzo top. The suites have private living rooms, dining areas, and terraces. The minibars offer ingredients and directions for classic cocktails with a Miami twist, such as the Pomegranate Fizz and Elderflower Paloma.
The property's signature restaurant is Seagrape by Michelle Bernstein. The Floridian brasserie serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily and also offers 24-hour in-room dining. The menu focuses on fresh vegetables, small plates, a selection of pedigreed, a-la-carte steaks and a rich raw bar.
Off the secondary front drive entrance, the Crown Room is a library-type space designed to evoke a beach house feel. The Crown Room offers hand-made, artisan cocktails, ranging from a traditional Manhattan and Mint Julep to an Almond Blossom Crusta (circa 1951) and the Blinker (circa 1948).
The 1930s House is an historic, freestanding venue that will offer a menu of internationally-influenced crudos, tartares, ceviches and carpaccios, as well as a selection of tapas.
The Spa at Thompson Miami Beach & Fitness Center will be located on the 10th floor of the property. The indoor / outdoor space will allow guests and visitors access to six open-air treatment cabanas that showcase the hotel’s 1950s colorful aesthetic. The spa’s waiting area offers seating made of colorful fabrics and lush greenery, and feeds onto a separate indoor/outdoor gym and fitness terrace. Registered hotel guests will enjoy complimentary daily fitness classes hosted on the fitness terrace, like Mini Boot Camp, Boxing Explosion, Mat Pilates and more.
The property also has two heated pools, a garden and adjacent private beach.
