Hotel Byblos

Things are heating up in Saint Tropez ahead of the Riviera’s hot summer season. The Hotel de Paris recently opened in Saint Tropez (ooh la la!) and now the Hotel Byblos, a favorite rendezvous spot for the international jetset, has announced a new restaurant by celebrated Chef Alain Ducasse, which debuted on April 17 when the hotel opened for the season.

Rivea replaces Spoon, another Ducasse restaurant concept, and will showcase Mediterranean cuisine prepared with the freshest local produce. Expect shared appetizers like caponata, rock octopus salad, sardines confit in basil, chick pea and sheep cured soup and vitello tonnato; plus home-made pastas, vegetable cocottes, and seafood.

The eatery was given a fabulous new look by Italian designer duo Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, who scored a slam dunk with their interiors for the Bulgari Hotel London (See our October 2012 issue for our review).
