Foodie Buzz: Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo to Host Food and Wine Fest

The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo has been selected as the host property for The Fourth Annual Ritz-Carlton Asia Food & Wine Festival, to be held September 30 to October 4. 

This year will mark the first time the event has returned to Japan since the inaugural festival at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, in 2011. 

Who's going? Confirmed attendees are Virgilio Martinez of Peru, owner and executive chef of Central in Peru and voted 4th best chef in the world in 2015, San Pellegrino’s edition; Paco Perez of Spain, a recipient of five Michelin stars and currently at the helm of Enoteca at Hotel Arts; Bruno Oger of France, a holder of two Michelin stars and the mind behind the acclaimed La Villa Archange in Cannes; Kenichi Hasimoto of Japan, owner of two Michelin-starred restaurants in Kyoto and famous for his handcrafted Kaiseki Japanese cuisine; Ryousuke Nakatani of Japan, owner of a two Michelin starred restaurant in Osaka and also famous for his Kaiseki Japanese cuisine; Julien Royer of France, an acclaimed chef who has worked under multiple Michelin-starred chefs and recipient of 11th place on the Asia 50 best restaurants 2015 by San Pellegrino; Bruno Le Derf of France, owner of four boutiques and Meilleur Ouvier de France chocolatier confiseur in 2007; Sébastien Serveau of France, pastry chef member of the exclusive “Club des Sucrés”, director and cofounder of the tea room NOUGAT TEA’N; Jean-Francois Antony of France, a master of cheese and supplier to Michelin star restaurants all around the world. Last but not least, the participating chefs from The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, include Chef de Cuisine Miyazaki Shintaro of fine dining French restaurant Azure 45 and Teppanyaki Chef Hidemitsu Yasui of the Japanese restaurant, Hinokizaka.

Additional participants include wine & beverage craftsmen from the following partners: Château Mouton Rothschild, Champagne Billecart-Salmon, Maison Joseph Drouhin, Arzuaga Navarro, Champagne Perrier-Jouët, Château Palmer, Suntory Whiskey and W. & J. Graham's Port. The event’s featured mixologist is Sam Jeveons, a master bartender and spirits consultant with over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Participating guests will be able to attend events at the hotel, in spaces like Hinokizaka, Towers, Azure 45, The Bar, the Lobby Lounge and the Grand Ballroom. There will be an exclusive dinner with the stars, fine dining experiences, chocolate buffet and champagne afternoon tea, mixologist bartender class, pastry and chocolate cooking class, beef teppanyaki dinner, kaiseki with sake or whiskey pairing dinner.
