Here's a name to remember for the South Pacific: Michel Volk is the new general manager at the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora.
Volk has been in the industry for 20 years, 17 of which were with Four Seasons. (There's something to be said for brand loyalty!) Most recently, he was at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston, where he served as hotel manager. Other properties have included Four Seasons Resort Vail, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Thailand, the former Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche, Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris, the former Four Seasons Hotel Berlin and the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. (His career with Four Seasons began at Four Seasons Hotel London as a front desk receptionist.)
Volk is a graduate of the Lycée Technique Hôtelier Alexis Heck in Diekirch, Luxembourg and École hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. A native of Luxembourg City, he speaks English, French, German, Luxembourgish and some Portuguese.
