Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita Expands Culinary Program

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is offering guests a new selection of culinary offerings with a new menu of classes and amenities. Guests will learn authentic, pre-historic cooking techniques and tradition, blend tequila with a tequila master, prepare seafood caught in Bahia de Banderas and snack on Mexican-inspired frozen desserts at the new beachfront surf shack.

For guests who want to create their own dishes, there is a new cooking class that will take guests outdoors to the resort’s new Iku Garden, which includes equipment and tools designed to mirror the kitchens of ancient times. There will be volcanic stones, an underground oven and a molcajete (mortar). Guests will prepare dishes using indigenous ingredients, such as grasshoppers, ant eggs, cactus, banana leaves, agave leaves, huitlacotche and epazote. Don't let the ingredients fool you, we think it will be delicious.

The resort will provide tequila aficionados a hands-on tequila tasting and blending experience hosted by Enrique Alejos the cultural concierge. Each guest will make a unique blend tequila from four different barrels of tequila.

There is also the beach-front Mexican Gelateria to please visitors. The colorful surf shack serves custom gelato and popsicles, which are hand-crafted in Punta Mita; flavors include chocolate and chili, black bean, guanabana, tamarindo, corn, avocado and hibiscus. (Yum.)
