Buzz on the French Riviera: Dior's Pop-Up Shop in Saint Tropez

Dior Pop-Up Store in Saint Tropez, FranceThe sun, sea, and scene... St. Tropez’s got it all. And in the summer months, when the world’s fashionable jetsetters descend on the picturesque Mediterranean village, the major fashion labels bring in the goods. Like Chanel’s pop-up shop-- occupying a 19th century villa complete with garden and pool-- Dior opened a pop-up shop in June in the Jardins de l’Ambassade (25 Rue François Sibilli). Inspired by the brand’s Avenue Montaigne boutique in Paris, the store was designed by architect Peter Marino with grey tones and toile de Jouy making it look a bit like a “Balzac boudoir”-- to quote Vogue Paris. The works of contemporary artists are also on display. In the garden, Michelin three-starred chef Yannick Alléno (of Le Meurice fame) has opened a tea salon called Dior des Lices serving light summer dishes and the exclusive D'Choux pastry collection.

To coincide with the launch of the St. Tropez pop-up store, Dior created a turquoise blue nail polish called (what else?) Vernis St. Tropez that resembles the “the fresh and splendid crystalline water of the glamorous Mediterranean fishing port.”
