Dispatch from Paris- Karl Lagerfeld to Design Crillon Suites

Hotel de Crillon, Paris

Big news from the City of Light: Hotel de Crillon has announced that star fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld will decorate two of its prestigious suites. Currently the palace hotel on the Place de la Concorde is closed for a major overhaul, and will reopen in Summer 2015. In December 2013, it was revealed that ultra-luxe hotel company Rosewood has taken over management of the hotel. Tapping Lagerfeld-- whose star power at the head of Chanel resonates around the world-- was a brilliant move.

Rosewood President Radha Arora told Women’s Wear Daily: “No one understands Paris or the heritage of the Crillon better than Mr Lagerfeld.” In Lagerfeld’s own words, the two suites will be designed as two “grand apartments.” Lagerfeld is not new to the hotel game. He also designed the cool pool lounge area at the Hôtel Métropole in Monte-Carlo, and conceived the emblem for the Sofitel So Singapore. For more information, visit www.crillon.com
