Fall in France: The International Gastronomy Festival in Mougins

MouginsHigh in the hills above Cannes, the village of Mougins-- where Picasso spent the last 12 years of his life-- is known as one of the gastronomic capitals of the French Riviera. Great chefs like Roger Vergé and Alain Ducasse have helmed restaurants in the ancient hamlet, and Michelin-starred eateries like Le Candille and Le Moulin de Mougins dazzle diners. Foodies traveling to France in the Fall shouldn’t miss the annual International Gastronomy Festival taking place from September 16-18, 2011.

Now in its 6th edition, the 'Les Étoiles de Mougins' attracts star chefs who set up cooking demonstrations, seminars, and ample tastings. This year the guest of honor is Eric Fréchon, the culinary dynamo at the reins at Le Bristol in Paris, who will welcome chefs of great renown like Thierry Marx (from Mandarin Oriental Paris), Frédéric Anton, Christian Le Squer, Yves Camdeborde, Alain Pégouret, Christophe Bacquié, Christopher Hache, Yannick Franques, and a number of international stars as well. Admission is free, but there is a small fee (between 5-10 euros) for certain demonstration tents.
