Hot Spots in Cannes- New Giorgio Armani Caffe on La Croisette

Hotel Martinez CannesThe Cannes Film Festival is fast approaching. Soon all the stars will descend on the French Riviera for the glamour and glitz of the world’s most famous film festival. As we reported earlier this month, the festival will kick off on “May 15 with Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby and close 11 days later with Jérôme Salle's South Africa-set thriller Zulu.”

The city’s iconic luxury hotels have long been booked up, and where will the lucky guests be hanging out when not attending screenings? Conde Nast Traveller (UK) has tipped us off about a brand new Giorgio Armani/Caffe that’s opening its doors on La Croisette just in time for the festival. Says the magazine: Adjoined to the first Giorgio Armani boutique in Cannes, it is set to be the place to be seen in daytime - with oversized sunnies and undersized dogs.

For great tips on what to do and see in the seaside city, see the recent “36 Hours in Cannes” in The New York Times.
