Francis Ford Coppola Winery Announces 2012 Harvest Events

Francis Ford Coppola Winery has announced its Fall 2012 schedule of activities during harvest season, highlighted by Sonoma’s “Wine Wonderland” that includes tours and tastings to celebrate the coming of the harvest.

Every Friday night this September and October has been scheduled for “evenings of wine, food and Latin dancing” at the Winery Park’s outdoor performance pavilion. On offer are dance instructions, and food and wine tastings at the Pool Cafe.

Also on offer is the Italian Harvest Tour for guests to experience the 2012 harvest with hands-on winery experience, including picking grapes, and visiting the winery, crushpad and barrel room for barrel and tank sample testing in the lab, punch down grapes in the open-top fermentation tanks, and sample fermenting juice. Similarly included is a winemaker Q&A, followed by a five-course lunch served with Coppola wines. This tour is offered every Sunday from September 9 to October 14.

During the harvest season, too, the facility’s tasting room offers a fresh-pressed wine tasting for sampling of juice just in from the winery’s crushpad. Muscat is the season’s first offering with other grape varietals available throughout harvest. There will also included be a four-course tasting menu, paired with Coppola wines and winery-exclusive wines.

Coppola Winery also has activities for children every Saturday and Sunday starting this September.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery is located at 300 Via Archimedes in Geyserville, California, accessed from US HWY 101 and the Independence Lane exit. It features two restaurants, a swimming pool, a movie gallery, a performing arts pavilion, and a park area with game tables and bocce courts.
