Don’t plan a trip to Jamaica this summer without considering a stay at GoldenEye in Oracabessa. This is where Ian Fleming wrote all 14 James Bond novels, and, now, GoldenEye is getting ready to debut 26 new Beach Huts. This hideaway, owned by Chris Blackwell of Island Records, is set to open the new accommodations on April 1, 2016.
These new huts will be freestanding and include a private veranda, oversized louvered windows and high ceilings. Guests will be able to relax on custom-deigned Jamaican furniture. Tip: There will be interior showers but some huts will also come with enclosed, outdoor showers and tubs.
The Beach Hut area will be focused around Sha’been, a seafront bar with a rooftop lounge, which we like the sound of. At Sha’been be sure an order the jerk chicken and pepper shrimp. As an added touch, a game room and freshwater pool are also being added.
Snorkeler’s Cove is also being to the resort. Guests are encouraged to grab their snorkeling gear and swim out to the coral reef and Oracabessa Fish Sanctuary.
Bookings can be made now for travel beginning April 1.
