'Gone Girl' to Launch New York Film Festival in September

The 52nd annual New York Film Festival is gearing up for its late-September launch, and the screening schedule is beginning to take shape.

According to host The Film Society of Lincoln Center, the film, starring Oscar-winner Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Tony-winner Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry, will launch the festival on September 26 at Alice Tully Hall

Notably, the festival's opening gala, held later that night, will be hosted at the newly reopened Tavern on the Green, which had traditionally hosted the event until the restaurant's closure in 2009. Since the venue reopened in May, it is able to host receptions like the Film Festival's again.

The 17-day New York Film Festival takes place September 26 - October 12. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at noon on Sunday, September 7. Tip: Becoming a Film Society member before July 31 provides access to a pre-sale period for single tickets to festival screenings and events ahead of the general public on-sale date.
