Papillon Group's Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines has announced the return of its Bar 10 Ranch tour for the 2016 season, which is set to begin April 1.
The tour is designed for individuals looking to experience a remote part of the Grand Canyon, as well as for adventure seekers. Note: Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines is also the exclusive provider for Colorado River rafters beginning or ending their river excursions.
During the "Grand Canyon North Air/Ground Tour," guests are picked up in Las Vegas via complimentary shuttle service, which brings them to the Boulder City Aerocenter. Later, travelers board an airplane to get a bird’s-eye view of the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Colorado River (wow).
After the airplane lands at Bar 10 Ranch, guests experience a guided ATV trek through Whitmore Canyon and Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Tip: Bar 10 Ranch is a working cattle ranch, located nine miles from the north rim of the canyon. The tour concludes at an exclusive vantage point of Grand Canyon National Park, where travelers are encouraged to participate in a homemade Dutch oven barbecue lunch -- delicious.
The trip lasts approximately eight hours, including round-trip hotel shuttle transportation. In addition, guests wishing to extend their excursion and stay at Bar 10 Ranch overnight will also have the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding, dinner and evening entertainment. Accommodation options include a two-person covered wagon or a four-person bunk room. These accommodations are meant to give people a plush "Old West" feel.
Guests who choose to book the overnight stay will be be treated to breakfast the next morning, followed by free time for various activities including skeet shooting, beach volleyball and ping pong, before the return trip to Las Vegas. There is also an option available for an overnight stay, where guests sleep outside under the stars on an observatory deck furnished with cots and deck beds. We think this will be a big hit for families.
