Uruguay is about to get a new luxury hotel: The Grand Hotel is in soft opening now and will open officially on January 4, 2015 in Punta del Este.
The first major five-star hotel built in Punta del Este in over 15 years, The Grand is situated directly on Brava Beach with most rooms featuring ocean views. The property is 10 blocks from downtown.
The property, which is said to be designed to evoke an ocean liner heading out to sea, has a semi-Olympic-sized heated outdoor swimming pool, a 45-foot-long heated indoor swimming pool, a luxurious spa, Roman baths, a beauty salon, complimentary Wi-Fi, babysitting services, hotel transfers, beachfront services and concierge services to assist with booking excursions.
Dining options include the on-property Lighthouse Restaurant, serving Italian and international cuisine for breakfast and dinner, and The Grand Lobby Bar, open 24 hours a day, which offers cocktails and light meals. There is also round-the-clock room service.
