The nine-day trip focuses on acclimating runners to the elevation (the race starts at an elevation of 6,700 feet), but the trip also gives visitors the chance to experience the culture of Bhutan. On day two guests will do a 12-mile run to the village of Dobshaptoe to visit a unique orange tree that bears fruit year-round. Runners will also prepare for the race with various yoga and stretching routines. On day six the marathon takes place. After the marathon the following days will be spent visiting temples, monasteries and hiking through the pine forests above Uma Paro.
