From over-the-top holiday getaways to holiday celebrations around the world, we've been keeping you up to date on where to head as the season approaches. We just got wind of three new Christmas and New Year's travel ideas from London, Miami and Rome -- take a look.
At The Milestone Hotel, "Christmas is all around" with three packages aimed at helping guests get the most out of spending the holidays in London. All packages include daily English breakfast, a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate on arrival, champagne afternoon tea, a £50 shopping spree at Harrods or Hamleys, and a late check-out until 3pm. Guests staying on Christmas Eve will receive filled stockings.
Our pick? Try the package that includes a horse-drawn carriage ride through Hyde Park and Regent Street to see the lights, a Bentley transfer for shopping to and from Harrods, Selfridges or Harvey Nichols, theater tickets for two and a private capsule ride on the London Eye with a bottle of champagne.
Packages range from £446 to £1823 and are valid from November 15, 2015, through January 8 or 15, 2016, depending on the package.
While at The Milestone, guests can check out the hotel's Festive Holiday Afternoon Tea (highlight: sandwiches with Roast Norfolk turkey breast and cranberry), a special Christmas Even dinner with a Ballottine of Aylesbury goose carved at the table, or a three-course New Year's Eve dinner to ring in 2016.
In Rome, guests at the Hassler Roma can take advantage of a set of Christmas and New Year's packages, all of which include a three-night stay in a Deluxe or Grand Deluxe room and daily buffet breakfast. The "Enchanting Christmas Dream" package also offers a six-course Christmas Eve dinner at the Michelin-starred Imàgo, afternoon tea at Salone Eva with a live musical performance on Christmas Day, and a special in-room "Christmas Surprise" upon arrival. Guests who pick the "Sparkling New Year's in Rome Package at Imàgo" will get a bottle of champagne in their room upon arrival, afternoon tea at Salone Eva, a New Year's Eve dinner gala at Imàgo and dancing at Salone Medici. Alternatively, guests can opt for the "Sparkling New Year's in Rome Package at Salone Eva" for an in-room bottle of champagne, afternoon tea and a New Year's Eve dinner at Salone Eva, and dancing at Salone Medici.
The "Enchanting Christmas Dream Package" is priced from €1,776 and valid for arrivals from December 22-25, 2015. The "Sparkling New Year's in Rome Package at Imàgo" is priced from €3,364 and valid for arrivals from December 29-31, 2015. Finally, the "Sparkling New Year's in Rome Package at Salone Eva" is priced from €2,484 and valid from December 29-31, 2015.
Closer to home, the Fontainebleau Miami Beach has announced it will be ringing in 2016 with performances by The Weeknd and KYGO. The two artists will headline a festive nightlife experience at the hotel's poolscape before leading a final countdown to the New Year at midnight.
Prices for the event start at $275 for one general admission ticket up to $50,000 for a stage-side private space for up to 30 guests. All packages include premium open bar from 9 p.m. until midnight.
