Here’s a new luxury hotel brand to keep on your radar. Come summer 2017, Almanac Hotels will unveil the first property in its portfolio, close to the iconic Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. Almanac Barcelona will open its doors at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 619-621. Two buildings have undergone a dramatic, two-year renovation to create the new property, which will house 92 contemporary guest rooms and suites, some equipped with balconies or terraces.
Buzzworthy: The rooftop bar and lounge called Azimuth. The hotel’s Facebook page describes “an inventive cocktail menu to transport your taste buds on a journey around the globe.” There will also be a Mediterranean brasserie called Línia, a fully-equipped gym, and a pool and sun lounge.
Other Almanac Hotels in the pipeline include Vienna (early 2019), Prague, Budapest, and Zagreb. Special note: Almanac Esplanade Zagreb is a legendary property, first built in 1925 to accommodate passengers from the Orient Express.
