Aman Le Mélézin will reopen on December 16 for the winter season following an eight-month refurbishment. The renovations included 19 rooms and suites (three of which received large terraces and private hot tubs), a new slope-facing bar, and a reconfigured lobby and restaurant.
The guestrooms and suites will have all new interiors, from the carpeting to the ceiling and customized furniture, as well as new underfloor radiant heating and Japanese toilets. The 19 renovated rooms is a continuation of the 12 rooms that were redone in 2014.
Relocated to the west side of the hotel, the bar will now offer guests views of the mountain. The Cigar Lounge, located next to the bar, will have a selection of books, fine whiskeys, cognacs, and leather club chairs to relax in front of a fire with a hand-rolled cigar from Aman Le Mélézin’s sister property Amanera in the Dominican Republic.
Final portions of the refurbishment include an expanded restaurant and terrace, and a new glass corridor enclosed with wood latticework that leads to the reception and concierge desks. Aged oak panels and sculptures designed by Roseline Granset will be found throughout the property.
Aman Le Mélézin is located on Bellecote Piste, Courchevel, in Les Trois Vallees, France. In addition to its on-mountain location, Aman Le Mélézin has plenty of ski equipment to buy or rent, and even has a ski room where guests are eased into warm ski boots, provided with a bottle of water, and have their skis laid out on the slopes by a personal attendant. In addition to Aman Le Mélézin’s reopening, Aman announced the debut of an Apres-Ski Soiree culinary experience at Amangani in Jackson Hole, WY. At the Zinc Bar, guests can participate in an interactive tasting led by the resort's executive chef and learn how to craft cocktails with the resident mixologist.
