Ambergris Cay Airport Recertified as an International Gateway

Ambergris Cay, a private island in southern Turks & Caicos, now has the longest runway of any private airport in the Caribbean with a length of 5,700 feet. This means that guests traveling to Ambergris Cay by private jet can now clear Turks and Caicos Customs and Immigration upon arrival—without having to stop at the Providenciales International Airport. Located less than three hours’ flying time by private jet from most East Coast gateways, Ambergris Cay is now even easier to access by private plane.

The experience of Ambergris Cay International Airport is designed to be seamless from the moment guests touch down on the island. Customs and check-in are taken over by a dedicated butler.

At Ambergris Cay, all meals and drinks are included in the nightly price, as well as resort activities, a 30-minute daily spa treatment per person and water sports, such as kayaking, sailing and snorkeling, bone and reef fishing, use of golf carts, bikes and more. Beyond the resort restaurant, there is a pool and bar area, should guests want to leave their own private pools. For the more adventurous explorers, the team will drop guests off for a catered lunch on a deserted island.

Only three miles long and largely undeveloped, Ambergris Cay launched in late 2018 with the introduction of 10 private, beachfront suites. In 2019, the island added three- and four-bedroom luxury villas to the rental choices on the island. These accommodations are popular with families and small groups, according to the hotel.
