Andre Balazs to Build New Hotel at NYC's 5 Beekman Place

Here's an exciting New York scoop from Curbed.com: We hear that the decaying landmark building at 5 Beekman Place, which has been empty for 10 years, will be iconic hotelier Andre Balazs' next project. No word yet on what kind of hotel 5 Beekman will be, but if his work on The Standard is any indication, it will gain plenty of notoriety and publicity just by having Balazs' name attached.

Check out more gorgeous photos of the elegantly eerie property at ScoutingNY (like the one at right), and let your visions of what Balazs' plans for it might be run wild...

For further evidence of Balazs' takeover of New York's hotel scene, he has also been named as the owner of the Cooper Square Hotel.
