The Balmoral to Unveil Refurbished Guest Rooms

The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland is set to unveil its refurbished guest rooms this month. The refurbishment project redesigned the hotel's  west wing, including 37 castle-facing rooms, Deluxe Suites, and the renowned JK Rowling Suite, along with its three main function suites.

According to a written release, the new rooms and suites will embody a Scottish woodland theme accompanied by a color palette of blues, grays and purples. The theme will extend to the wallpaper, lined with trees and foliage, while the carved mirrors and tables will have branch-like legs. Recessed window seats in the rooms will allow guests to take in some of the views of the city.

The contemporary feel of the rooms will be matched with furniture, such as handmade beds by Glencraft, fabrics sourced from the Scottish company, Isle of Mill and the cushions from Scottish brand, Timorous Beasties.

The renovated rooms and suites are integral to Rocco Forte Hotels’ ongoing dedication to its suite offering. Rocco Forte Hotels has unveiled The Rocco Forte Suite Experience, a new concept across each of the eleven hotels. In line with this, The Balmoral is set to unveil a range of new itineraries, including their Taste of Scotland Experience during which guests can source and cook Scotland produce under the eye of Brian Grigor, head chef at Michelin-starred restaurant Number One.

The refurbishment project coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Rocco Forte Hotels group. In fact, The Balmoral—a distinguished landmark in Scotland—was the first property in Sir Rocco’s portfolio in 1997. Today the luxury hotel at No. 1 Princes Street is celebrated for its castle views, Michelin-starred Number One restaurant, Afternoon Tea at Palm Court, and stock of 400 Scottish whiskies at Scotch.
