Corinthia Hotels Set to Open its First Property in Middle East in 2020

Corinthia has announced the opening of its first hotel in the Middle East. Due to launch in 2020, Corinthia Meydan Beach Dubai will be located on the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) beachfront.

Working in partnership with Meydan Group and situated within Dubai Marina, overlooking a stretch of white sand, the 55-story hotel will be home to 360 rooms and suites, cascading infinity pools, the region’s first ESPA Life Spa and several culinary experiences. Bonus: Most accommodations will have views of the Dubai Eye and Palm Jumeirah. The standard rooms will be, on average, nearly 650 square feet, which Corinthia says are among the most spacious in Dubai. Tip: There will also be fully serviced apartments (great for families) and two spacious Beach Villas, which are ideal for couples looking for a little more privacy. Amongst Corinthia Meydan Beach Dubai's signature suites will be three London suites, inspired by the brand's award-winning London Penthouses (The Explorer, The Writer and The musician); additionally, The Pearl Suite is inspired by the history of pearl diving on the coast in the United Arab Emirates, while the two-story Royal Suite will be the largest on property.

There will be 15 dining destinations on site and over 50 more in the JBR area—all within a short walk of the hotel. On-site dining experiences will range from afternoon tea in the Tea Lounge and relaxed oceanside dining at the beachfront restaurant to fine dining and impressive views on the 32nd floor. Other options include a bar serving wood-fired flatbreads and the Barista Theatre, which offers a variety of coffees.

ESPA Life Spa

Matthew Dixon, area managing director, Middle East, has been appointed to build and lead a new team, opening and operating Corinthia Meydan Beach Dubai. Dixon was formerly the pre-opening and operating general manager of Corinthia London, Corinthia Hotels’ flagship property, and, prior to this, his opening and operating experience included Rocco Forte’s Hotel de Russie in Rome and The Grove in Hertfordshire. Corinthia says the hotel should appeal to a range of guests, including families, couples, business travelers and diplomatic and other VIP groups.

In addition to its ESPA Life Spa, there will be a Kids Club with an expansive outdoor play zone, dedicated swimming pool and a program of activities for kids and family time.

The existing Corinthia portfolio includes the flagship Corinthia London, as well as award-winning Corinthia Hotels in Budapest, Malta, St. Petersburg, Prague, Lisbon, Khartoum and Tripoli.
