Fairmont Royal Pavilion Reps Discuss New Suites and More

NEW YORK CITY Luxury Travel Advisor sat down Thursday morning with representatives of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion in Barbados and learned more about the resort’s recent $4 million renovation.

Emmalene Turner, director of sales and marketing, and Wayne R. Kafcsak, general manager, spoke about the recently completed project and the 24 new suites that were included in the renovation.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion reopened November 1 following a two-month renovation program designed to enhance its presence. Set on 11 acres, this resort debuted a new category of room – 24 spacious 900 square-foot Beachfront Junior Suites with private terraces, overlooking the ocean. Serviced by experienced butlers, these latest additions will join the existing inventory of 48 Oceanfront Deluxe guestrooms.

“If we want to attract more people from the U.S. and if we want to keep attracting more people in general, than we knew it would be beneficial to take the resort to the next level,” Turner said.

Turner was referring to the fact that the resort currently attracts only 16 percent of its clients from the U.S. with the bulk of its guests coming from the U.K. But with an increased focused on U.S. marketing, the new investment and new direct American Airlines flights from Dallas, Turner and Kafcsak are optimistic about U.S. increases.

“We think those numbers will rise and we know to do that, we had to make our resort second to none and that’s what we believe we have done," says Kafcsak.

Guests booking a junior suite will also benefit from an airport fast track service, being personally escorted through the diplomatic area in immigration and customs, personalized check-in and check-out, a dedicated butler service, daily in-room amenities and delicious complimentary evening canapés.

During high season, the resort is primarily couples-orientated but throughout the summer months of April to October, children of all ages are invited to join their parents when the hotel offers complimentary daily children’s activities.

A wide range of complimentary non-motorized water sports are offered, including snorkelling, wakeboarding, water-skiing, sunfish sailing and kayaking. For spa aficionados, holistic spa treatments and massages are offered in the comfort and privacy of your guestroom.
