Conrad Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion with the opening of the brand's first property in mainland China, located in Haitang Bay in Sanya, Hainan Island. Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay is the first hotel to open in Haitang Bay, the newest resort area to be developed on the southern tip of Hainan Island, known as China’s "tropical paradise."
Distinguished by its French Riviera-style architecture, the 101 villas and rooms at Conrad Sanya Haitang Bay overlook the ocean, lagoons or gardens. Each villa has a private pool, sun lounger, cabana, and is surrounded by foliage for privacy. Guests also enjoy additional access to two large outdoor common pools.
The property has four restaurants and bars: all-day dining restaurant Teatro, which offers international cuisine as well as Asian and Western dishes from an open kitchen; La Chine serves contemporary Hainan and Cantonese cuisine; Senses features seafood dishes; while Vue Lounge offers an alfresco setting with ocean views.
An extensive range of recreation facilities are also available including a stretch of white sandy beach, spa, fitness centre, tennis courts and a kids club.
For sightseeing, a number of exciting tourist attractions are within easy access of the resort. At Wuzhizhou Island, guests can experience culture and water sports, while Nantian Hot Spring is known for "fish therapy." There are also golf courses dotted around the Sanya area, including Sun Valley Golf Glub and Clear Water Bay Golf Club.
