There's even more reason now to visit 6 Columbus hotel this spring. The Thompson hotel in midtown New York is launching a new rooftop terrrace lounge, Above 6, which is Thompson's third open-air retreat in New York City, joining 60 Thompson’s Above 60, and Thompson LES's Above Allen.
"We believe Above 6 adds a jewel-box element to Six Columbus that provides our guests with a touch of downtown NYC while enjoying midtown views of Central Park," says Jason Pomeranc, co-owner of Thompson Hotels.
Originally conceived by interior designer Steven Scarloff, Above 6 will provide patrons with "a taste of the city's fashionable undercurrent, and offer iconic views completely unique to the city's center."
The sky-high setting will work well for after-work cocktails and private events. Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill has created a summer inspired menu of warm weather elixirs. The menu features a selection of bespoke refreshments such as the Hummingbird, (Avinyo Cava, St. Germain, Club Soda, and Yama Momo) and reinventions of old standards such as the Siberian Sunrise (Zyr Vodka, fresh grapefruit juice, and fresh lime juice).
The space is set to open daily from 5pm – 2am, Tuesday – Saturday.
