Hot Hotels From Around the Web

SLS Hotel South Beach
The SLS Hotel South Beach is one of our Hot New Hotels

A good hotel is more than just a place to rest your head at night. Whether it’s an oasis from a hectic day of travel or a retreat unto itself, matching the right property to the right client is a huge part of the art of the travel advisor. Keeping track of what’s new in the hotel world can help advisors find the perfect match for a client.

Fortunately, convenient lists of things – especially hotels – have become something of a tradition since the rise of online media. Since consumers read these lists, too, they can also be a good way of figuring out what will be on travelers’ radar in the coming year. But who will list the lists? Luxury Travel Advisor will – here are some top hotel lists to keep track of when recommending a property for clients.

Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List 2013

This list of 154 hotels that opened in the past year is compiled based on property visits by Condé Nast writers. For the budget-minded, it has 62 hotels for under $300 per night, and it also has 35 new spas.

T+L 500: The World’s Best Hotels 2013

Travel + Leisure takes a different approach by compiling list of top hotels based on reviews by its readers. At 500 hotels it’s a bit long, but it can be filtered by region or restricted to just the top 50.

TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice 2013: Top 25 Hotels in the World

It may be a booking site, but TripAdvisor’s list of top hotels can be another way of gauging what’s hot among consumers this year. Region- and size-specific lists are also available

Travel Agent magazine’s Hot New Hotels of 2012

Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention our sister magazine's list of the hottest hotel openings of the previous year. From the top names in the industry to rising stars, this list spans all the major travel niches.

Be on the lookout when we post our own roundup of hot hotels that have opened this year.
