The royal suite at Hotel Amigo has a large outdoor terrace to enjoy the views of Brussels.

Known for its views of Brussels landmarks (in particular, the 15th-century, Gothic-style Town Hall), the Royal Suite at Hotel Amigo mixes historic exterior overlooks with clean, modern interiors, where reproductions of Surrealist paintings and Tintin character-adorned tiled bathrooms combine with high-tech TVs, an open fireplace and a window illuminated by the Town Hall tower at night.

The suite’s other sensory treats include an espresso machine, an in-room bar, a private kitchen, large dining room, lounge with seating area and working desk, daily newspaper selection, Wi-Fi, in-room safe and en-suite dressing room.

Special arrangements, such as connecting to a neighboring room to form a two-bedroom suite, arranging for an in-room massage, requesting a butler or ordering a private gourmet lunch or dinner, can be made through Silvia Brighenti ([email protected]), director of sales & marketing.

The Rocco Forte Suite Program is another upgrade option that features in-suite check-in, luggage service (bags unpacked on arrival and packed again before departure), pressing of two garments on arrival, complimentary high-speed Internet access and in-house movies, choice of pillows, duvets, mattresses, cottons or linens, complimentary buffet breakfast and an open bar.

Downstairs, reservations can be made at Bocconi restaurant ([email protected]) where Chef Fulvio Pierangelini and Head Chef Marco Visinoni have created a menu of Italian dishes where specialties like vitello tonnato, paccheri with tomatoes, veal milanese and tiramisu are made with local produce. Al fresco dining on the patio is recommended, weather permitting.

A further “taste” of Brussels can be arranged through Head Concierge Riccardo Fusari ([email protected]). He, along with the hotel’s concierge team, is available to plan activities, including private chocolate workshops, private guided tours to Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp and trips into town to visit galleries and boutiques.

Chocoholics will appreciate the newly launched “Chocolate Afternoon Tea,” which includes a selection of tea and coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate infusions, pralines and sweets signed by the Belgian Maître Chocolatier Pierre Marcolini, while art enthusiasts can ogle over the works on display during a Saturday Art Tour, a cultural walking tour where participants explore local art galleries and sample the cuisine of Bocconi. After a light, welcoming breakfast of coffee and pastries, the walking tour begins with a trip to three temporary exhibitions housed in some of the most interesting art galleries in the city. At the end of the tour, guests return for lunch at the Bocconi restaurant.

There’s even something for the fashion crowd. Hotel Amigo recently partnered with Belgian designer Diane von Furstenberg to celebrate the history of haute couture with an exclusive DVF Package that includes a one-night suite stay, a signed copy of Diane von Furstenberg’s new book, “The Woman I Want To Be,” and a timeless DVF black clutch bag. Guests can also get the chance to peek at the latest collection during a private VIP session at the DVF Brussels boutique. Iinquiries and bookings can be directed to General Manager Philippe Spagnol ([email protected]), who suggests one- to two-week advance reservations during the regular season.
