La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich Is Now Open

The latest hotel in La Réserve's celebrated portfolio is now welcoming guests to the banks of Lake Zurich. Joining properties in Paris, Ramatuelle and Geneva, La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich is the result of an ambitious restoration of an old Zurich landmark; the Eden au Lac first opened in 1909. Designer Philippe Starck brought whimsy and flair to the project in imagining the five-star hotel as an “imaginary yacht club.” Nautical decor includes woodwork reminiscent of ship hulls, paintings of sailboats and portraits of captains, bronze rowlocks from Venetian gondolas, and oars. Starck conceived the 40 rooms and suites as mariner's cabins on land. There are eight different room categories, ranging in size from 237 to 850 square feet. From their balconies and terraces, the rooms offer views over both the water and the city, as do the bars and restaurants.

La Reserve Zurich

Eden Kitchen & Bar is designed as a convivial space with an open kitchen sending out international dishes reflecting Italian chef Marco Ortolan’s globetrotting career in restaurants around the world. On the rooftop, with panoramic 360-degree views over Zurich, La Muña offers Japanese-Peruvian specialties by chef Tomoko Gunji Hangartner. Good to know: You can order food all day—there is no afternoon kitchen closure—and likewise room service is 24/7.

Take advantage of a special opening offer, “Discover La Réserve Zurich,” which, for a limited time, includes a slew of perks: Welcome drinks at the bar, American breakfast, a free upgrade to the next room category, early check-in and late check-out.

La Reserve is the brainchild of entrepreneur Michel Reybier, who is also the majority shareholder of Aevis Victoria SA. The ultra-luxe brand has developed a cult following among the jetset community for its approach to hospitality (tagline “rethinking luxury”).
