New York City's Times Square Gets New Rooftop Lounge

New York City got a new rooftop bar last week when Haven, on top of The Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square, opened last week. City website Gothamist calls the 2,500 square foot lounge "a green oasis," with vines crawling up the walls, a wide variety of trees and floral arrangements, and plenty of reclaimed cedar wood furnishings. The cumulative effect is reportedly quite soothing, with Times Square visible through glass walls from a safe vantage point.

Guests arrive at Haven via a private elevator. The lounge can seat up to 150 seats, but we're intrigued by the 14-foot communal table with seating for 20.

Cocktails at the lounge include The Sanctuary Star (ginger liqueur, light rum, fresh lime, mint and sugar), Aura (Bombay Sapphire Gin, fresh muddled raspberries, freshly squeezed lemon, mint leaves and simple syrup), Cielo (Herradura Silver Tequila, Cointreau, Guava Nectar & fresh sour mix) and the Solstice (Veev Acai Spirit, fresh lemon juice, cucumber, basil & simple syrup). More options and food will be added to the menu in coming months, we hear.

The Sanctuary Hotel is located at 132 West 47th Street. Visit www.sanctuaryhotelnyc.com for more information.
