Whether you’re losing hours to mindless scrolling on Instagram, suffering burn-out from too many emails or just sick of being spammed with former schoolmates' baby photos, QT Hotels & Resorts has the answer. QT is now offering to take charge of guests' devices with the launch of Power Down, the brand's first digital detox package, which will have guests hand over devices for a self-imposed, minimum 12-hour break from screen time by encouraging guests to disconnect with a little self-care.
Here’s how it works: QT Hotels staff will take care of participating guest's phones from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., while they unwind with a range of mindful extras, including complimentary in-room "wellness bowls," juices, supplements or wine and cheese at one of QT's bars.
The special in-room wellness bowl menu includes: a Sea and Omega Bowl (sushi rice, grilled miso-glazed salmon, pickled ginger, edamame, crispy shallots, avocado, toasted sesame, wakame-coriander-mint salad, wasabi ponzu dressing and togarashi seasoning); the Essential Clean Tummy Greens Bowl (broccoli, edamame, zucchini noodles, romesco, spinach, avocado, cashews, organic ginger, black sesame seeds and orange dressing); and a Ferment and Nourish Bowl (black wild rice, smoked hummus, cumin-spiced cauliflower and pumpkin, white pickled sauerkraut, fresh pomegranate, vegan falafel, mint and sumac).
Additional handpicked in-room wellness gifts will help support guests throughout their device black-out, including Beauty Chef's GLOW powder to boost gut health and glowing skin, Addition Studio's Bath Brew giant tea bag for the bath, a Protein Ball courtesy of Luv Sum and a yoga mat from Lululemon.
Guests will also have access to a QT Wellness Guru to fend off nomophobia (the fear of being with-out one's mobile phone) and keep the mind, body and spirit operating at full charge. If guests are still feeling a little lost without their phone, QT suggest they can get reacquainted with themselves or a friend by socializing in QT's bars with complimentary wine and cheese.
QT's Power Down package is available at all QT Hotels & Resorts in Australia (Sydney, Bondi Beach, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Canberra and Perth) and New Zealand (Wellington and Queenstown) from now until October 14, 2020.
