Both wine aficionados and spa enthusiasts alike will enjoy the new Secrets Spa by Pevonia, which, like the resort it is housed in, celebrates all things vino.

Luxury Travel Advisor recently visited the spa, located at the new Secrets The Vine Cancun, a unique Mexican hotel that takes its wine theme seriously. Case in point: The hotel is home to a 4,500-bottle cellar where guests are led by sommeliers for daily, complimentary tastings every afternoon.

The 13,000-square-foot Secrets Spa by Pevonia incorporates wine into most of its treatments. It uses tropical ingredients, anti-aging elements and wine-infused indulgences to awaken the senses. Hint: Buyouts and in-room group treatments are available at the spa. VIPs can enjoy a relaxing, 50-minute Swedish massage to experience “vine therapy” and aromatherapy through the unique “D’vine Ultimate Wine Massage.” Designed to infuse skin with the moisture and nutrients, the treatment uses an infusion of wine extracts with the aromas of holly, mango and cinnamon oils.

If you’re looking to plan a popular destination wedding in Mexico, complete with a posh spa experience, we suggest considering Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, which offers brides and grooms special treatments at the resort. The Spa at Grand Velas is all about wellbeing, and it immerses guests in healing rituals. Just look for the fresh flower petal mandalas floating in the water areas to symbolize nature, spirituality and the celebration of life (a nifty prelude to a wedding).

We suggest that the love birds book the Romantic Rituals For Couples to fully unwind before the nuptials. This treatment includes Aromatherapy Massages and his and her facials. During the 160-minute treatment, guests will relax as essentials oils are massaged into the skin, which, we hear, helps center the body. Afterwards, the couple will also enjoy Gourmet Details, which include indulging in natural, fruit-flavored waters, grain cookies and fresh fruit. We suggest wedding guests try the Warm Candle Massage With Sea Shells. This experience will give spa-goers a sense of place, and the organic wax and seashell massage will melt away anxiety.

The Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit spa suite is the place to unwind for some relaxing treatments. As an added touch, this spa also provides the Spa Suite for Brides Package, which allows the bridesmaids to get their hair done, along with manicures and pedicures — all while enjoying beverages and quick bites. Don’t worry, the bride will be pampered, too. (She gets hair and makeup, plus a mani and pedi.) Best part? The girls will get to use the Presidential Suite for eight hours, meaning posh privacy and the ability to relax altogether (cue the fun).

Part of the beauty of getting a massage in Mexico is the setting. If you’re looking for an all-natural spa adventure, we suggest booking the One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos. At the One&Only Spa, visitors can relax amongst Mexico’s tropical flora and fauna. We suggest taking advantage of all the outdoor amenities, including the hot and cold plunge pools, the natural showers and the relaxation garden. Need more sunshine? Book an outdoor, ocean-side palapa for a massage, meditation session or some yoga. Inside Tip: We think the Personalized Body Ritual sounds like the best way to restore energy. It includes a body exfoliation with marine algae and then a mud wrap is applied. After the wrap, it’s off to one of those outdoor showers before an aromatherapy massage. Guests can choose from a Detoxifier, De-Stressor, Muscle Relaxer, Jet-Lag Reviver, Immune Booster, Energizer and Body Toner.

Luxury Travel Advisor always suggests suites that come with complimentary spa access. Even if the guest isn’t planning to visit the spa during his or her trip, the option is always there. And after a day of high-energy activities, guests may realize a trip to the spa is needed.

Book the One-Bedroom Beachfront Suite at The Resort at Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas. This getaway includes a 35-foot private beach, beach cabana, a private swimming pool and complimentary access to the spa and wet areas (yes, please). The Luna y Mar Spa, meaning moon and sea, was created by renown spa designer Sylvia Sepelli. This relaxing center has three main themes of healing, which are inspired by the moon, the sea and the authentic Baja. As for what clients should book, we hear the Aquatic Massage will take spa-goers into a warm pool of water to help them fully relax.
