In another surge of confidence for Japan's recovery, we hear that an agreement was signed today for the development of The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto.
Slated to debut in 2014, the hotel will offer 136 guest rooms, four dining options, banquet and meeting rooms, as well as a spa and other recreational facilities.
The design of the hotel will be evocative of Japanese tradition with threads of modernity, incorporating the work of Japanese design houses such as Spin Studio. The architects will preserve the traditional Meiji house and courtyard into the architectural structure of the building.
