Salvatore Ferragamo Appointed Relais & Chateaux Brand Ambassador

Salvatore Ferragamo, Relais & Chateaux Brand Ambassador

The grandson of the famous Italian shoemaker runs Il Borro, a lovely hotel on his family’s land in Tuscany that recently became a member of Relais & Chateaux. Ferragamo converted a medieval hamlet into a hotel and winery that’s entirely organic and supplies its own electricity. Committed to the importance of tradition and art de vivre, Ferragamo seems a perfect choice to be Relais & Chateaux’s Brand Ambassador for 2013-- following the likes of Richard Gere.

The association of luxury hotels recently announced Ferragamo’s appointment at a soiree at Mario Batali’s NYC restaurant Del Posto. “Making the move from accessories to hospitality may seem like a big jump,” says, but Ferragamo explains that it’s all about the lifestyle—“whether in the wines you choose or the clothes that you wear.”

Relais & Chateaux has 36 new members this year. For more information, visit
