If you’re looking for a desert climate and an overall recharging vacation, we recommend the W Scottsdale, where the spa will leave you ultra-pampered and relaxed. Guests of the hotel are just steps away from Old Town and unlimited shopping options at the Waterfront. You can even head over to the Arizona spring training stadiums to check up on your team (or your team’s competition). Back at the hotel, book a Triple Oxygen Facial or head to the chic pool for a dip.

The Bliss Spa, with its seven tranquil treatment rooms, has a full menu of rejuvenating facials and many highly trained masseuses overseen by General Manager Stephanie Peterson ([email protected]). Our top two picks are the Blissage 75 and Hot Milk. Also, the sought-after fatgirlslim treatment will have you feeling great in your itsy-bitsy bikini and ready for some serious tanning time.
If traveling with family, note that teens must be 16 years or older to avail Bliss Spa services. However, the little ones can join mom or dad for manicures and pedicures. (The almond pedicure is highly recommended.)
Beyond the Spa
After the treatments are finished, head up to the posh, open-around-the-clock pool. The 13 cabanas are equipped with flat-panel TVs and Internet for those who don’t want to completely disconnect. These can be reserved during the daytime for $250.
|Spa Suite Bedrooms set a soothing vibe in a spacious area.|
While at the pool, swing by the tanning concierge for tips and the best sun screens. Also, if the sun is working too slowly, get an organic airbrush tan in your guest room bathroom. This is just one of the many luscious amenities you can enjoy at your room.
The suites have private balconies and a bed so comfortable that you will want to redecorate when you go home. We love the WOW Suite (one of the most popular options at well over 1,000 square feet), which includes a dining room and a living room.
For your A-list clients, book the Extreme Wow Suite, which gives almost 360-degree views of Camelback Mountain and a peek at who’s down by the pool. This suite also boasts a 1,300-square-foot patio, perfect for a swanky party. Top executives, sports stars and celebrities have stayed in this luxurious suite, but the staff’s lips are sealed as for their names. Note: WOW Suites and EWOW Suites must be booked directly through the hotel, not via the GDS. When booking VIP clients, contact Rich Gonzales ([email protected]; 480-970-2167), who can arrange for complimentary transportation within a five-mile radius of the hotel, snacks, magazines and airport pickups—even for private jet landings from the nearby Scottsdale Airport.

If your clients want to enjoy some of Scottsdale’s restaurants, management suggests Sushi Roku and Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse. Contact Concierge Lara Jacobs ([email protected]; 480-970-2101) for reservations. Jacobs can also get VIP clients anything they want. And we mean anything: 1,000 pennies at midnight, a Santa costume for a last-minute party, popcorn fix at 3 a.m., help planning the perfect proposal...just ask.
Pets under 40 pounds are welcome, and will be greeted with a pet bed, food and water dishes, toys and cleanup bags. Bonus: Dog walkers and grooming appointments are also available. Note: With a pet, room rates are $25 more plus a $100 nonrefundable cleaning fee.
Good to know: When booking clients in the spring, be aware of spring training, spring break and golf season during the months of March, April and May. Book two to three months in advance during that time frame.
