Lorne Theophilus, St. Lucia's minister of tourism, heritage and creative industries

As part of our ongoing coverage of the 13th annual Luxury Travel Expo at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Travel Agent chatted with Lorine Charles-St. Jules, regional marketing manager for the St. Lucia Tourist Board, about the destination's new tourism minister.

Lorne Theophilus, a St. Lucian lawyer, was sworn in as minister of tourism, heritage and creative industries on Monday, Charles-St. Jules told Travel Agent.

Theophilus replaced the incredibly popular Allen Chastanet, who Charles-St. Jules expects to stay involved with St. Lucia tourism.

"Right now, he's out, but I know he will be involved in some way somewhere in the future," she says.
