St. Regis to Open in Cairo in April

St. Regis, the upscale hospitality brand, is set to make a splash in Egypt when a lavish new property opens next to the Nile in April. St. Regis’s entry into Egypt is not an understated affair; the Cairo hotel will have a whopping 10 restaurants/bars plus an Iridium spa encompassing more than 10,000 square feet. The 39-storey complex, part of the Nile Corniche mixed-use development, was designed by Michael Graves Architecture & Design. The architecture studio’s website indicates that the St Regis will be a “six-star hotel.”

There will be 286 rooms and suites, 80 serviced apartments, and 149 branded residences. Guests can expect St. Regis signatures like the 24/7 butler service and the Bloody Mary cocktail menu at the bar. The St. Regis Cairo is also placing its bets on the wedding market; we hear that the three-story Banquet Lobby will feature a $1 million Swarovski chandelier and the ballroom will have a “Grand Crystal Staircase.”
