There’s a lot of hotel buzz coming out of Chicago lately, and we’ve got the scoop on the latest. Thompson Hotels is slated to open a brand-new hotel there this Fall.

Virtual Event

Pivoting Back to Travel, The Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Edition

2020 put the nuptial plans of thousands upon thousands of couples on hold, but with the promise of widespread vaccine distribution in the near future, it’s time to get back to planning and ensure your clients live out the destination weddings & honeymoons of their dreams. Hear from top suppliers and destinations on wedding venue & ceremony options, romantic destinations & resorts and more when you watch the event on-demand.

Thompson Chicago, set to debut its first phase in October, will be the company’s 11th property. We hear that the hotel’s rooms will have views either over the city or of Lake Michigan. Tip: Be sure to ask about the Penthouses, which will have 655 square feet of space, including a loft bedroom of 130 square feet, with a separate main floor sitting area. There are also full bathrooms with rain shower-heads. Cool Touch: We love the Dean & DeLuca snacks in the minibar. The Thompson Suites are also great for VIPs as we hear some of them have balconies.

Gourmands will love Nico restaurant at the hotel, which is the brainchild of One Off Hospitality Group (think avec The Publican, The Violet Hour and more). Nico will serve Italian cuisine with a focus on fresh pastas. Note: Nico will open in December. Contact the director of sales & marketing, Todd Piety ([email protected]), for VIP arrangements.
