Three Labor Day Retreats to Book Now

Are you still trying to choose a destination for the upcoming Labor Day holiday? We’ve got the inside details on three hotels that are still welcoming reservations for the weekend and provide getaways to Scottsdale, Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod.

Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain

The Spa House

This great western property is perfect for a long weekend with top accommodations, a cocktail class and a new Spa House created for wellness retreats.  Guests will want to book the remodeled Camelback Casitas and Suites. Travelers will be provided great views and the rooms are decorated with desert-inspired artwork and photographs from local artists. These rooms also add a touch of romance with a large soaking tub that opens into the living room via sliding doors. The Camelback Suites offer a patio for relaxing while the Casitas offer a separate seating area with comfortable chairs. Both of these guestroom options have a living and dining area.

A Labor Day celebration isn’t complete without some pool time. Luckily, Sanctuary has an infinity-edged pool. We suggest adults traveling together spend the morning lounging by the pool then enjoy the afternoon learning some new cocktail concoctions with a Mixology 101 class at the Jade Bar. For those looking for a few days of healthy detoxing, we suggest booking the Spa House. This private home hideaway includes a treatment room for massages and a movement studio. Yoga anyone?

Top touches in the Spa House also include the full kitchen, dining bar, dining room and living room. Tip: the living room opens to a wrap-around patio, an outdoor pool and expansive lawn.  The house can sleep eight with four bedrooms, but there are neighboring terrace suites that can accommodate another eight guests.

Harbor View Hotel

Looking for a traditional destination for Labor Day? We suggest a stay at Harbor View Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard. The hotel is known for welcoming families back year-after-year, so get ready to make some long-standing traditions. Families should book one of the Captain’s Cottage Suites. These accommodations are perfect for large families with up to three bedrooms in the hotel’s main building, an ideal location for first-time visitors. For an evening celebration try dinner at Lighthouse Grill, which offers views of the harbor and serves favorite dishes from New England. Tip: For adults traveling together, try New England’s micro-brewed beers at Henry’ s Hotel Bar.

Sea Crest Beach Hotel

Set on the private Old Silver Beach in North Falmouth, Cape Cod, this summer escape is made for beach-lovers.  Tip: When booking ask for a room with a private balcony with a view of the water. We hear that the Sun Deck accommodations are beautiful with woven sea grass headboards and a nautical color scheme of white and blues.  Theses rooms welcome up to four guests and include either a patio or balcony and, most importantly, have direct pool and beach access.  No need to change out of your white beach shorts for dinner at Red’s Restaurant & Lounge. Here, the porch is the perfect place for some outdoor dining.  Good to Know: There are a ton of activities around the hotel, including hiking, biking, an indoor pool, nearby attractions and more.
