Into the Dunes: Beachhouse Opens in East Hampton

Greeting the sultry summer season out in East Hampton is the rustic-cum-luxe new restaurant, Beachhouse, helmed by Michael Gluckman of The Boathouse.

This great-for-groups spot is serving up American steakhouse faves (think 21 Day Aged Cowboy Ribeye Steak) infused with fresh-from-the-waves seafood creafted by executive chef Dennis J. Farrell.

Amid the rotating cast of delectable nautical delights (try the Lobster Glazed Scallops or the Ceviche Shooters) guests will also find a seriously chic atmosphere.

Inside, raw brick abounds, giving a cozy vibe that is only furtherd by the woven cafe-esque chairs and deep leather banquettes. During the day, sunlight streams through the huge rectangular windows that line the walls right up the loft-height ceiling.

Post-beach revelers will dig the the undulating wooden bar, perfect for sipping high-end cocktails - try the classic Mai Tai - or something a little wilder like the Beachbum Margerita with Don Julio tequila and agave nectar.

Perhaps one of the loveliest aspects of the Beachhouse however is the alfresco dining option in the garden where whimsy and wisteria are the ideal accompaniment to a fine glass of wine.

Don't want to share your Beachhouse? Don't worry - the red-hot venue is available for private events so you and your 50 closest friends can have your own seaswept soiree.
