Mohegan Sun, the casino and resort in Connecticut, has created a new partnership with the short-distance helicopter service Blade. Passengers can book seats and crowdsource flights using the Blade app. Blade will start providing round-trip flights to Mohegan Sun beginning January 16.

Passengers will fly directly from New York City to the casino in Uncasville, CT. This one-way flight covers the 112-mile trip in about 45 minutes.

“We are incredibly excited to offer our guests a door-to-door crowdsourcing option that meets today’s need for transportation on demand in the most sophisticated way possible,” said Bobby Soper, president and CEO of Mohegan Sun.

The flight service will offer one-way trips Friday through Sunday. There will be round-trip value packages during special events, concerts, dining occasions and gaming specials. The first value package event will be for the Linkin Park concert on January 30.

“Never before has a traveler been able to leave New York City  – fly to Mohegan, enjoy a world class show, have a terrific dining experience, play in the casino and be back home in New York City by midnight,” said Evan Licht, general manager of Blade.

Passengers have the ability to purchase a single seat on the helicopter, starting at $625 or crowdsource a flight. Flights depart from West 30th Street or East 34th Street.
