Jose Luis Lopez Resendiz has been named director of sales at the new Grand Velas Los Cabos property, the newest resort along Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. In his new position, which is effective immediately, Lopez is responsible for the development and implementation of worldwide sales for the luxury resort.
Lopez brings to Grand Velas Los Cabos more than 15 years of experience in the hotel and tourism industry, where most recently he acted as director of sales at AMResorts’ Secrets Vallarta Bay and Now Amber Puerto Vallarta. Lopez has also previously held sales and marketing positions at AMResorts and Villagroup properties in Los Cabos as well as the Dorado Pacifico Hotel in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
A graduate of the University of Guerrero in Mexico, Lopez also holds a Hotel Administration degree the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education as well as the Certified Revenue Management Executive certification from HSMAI.
Grand Velas Los Cabos, the fifth property of the family owned and operated Velas Resorts, is set to open the doors to its 304 ocean-view suites property between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo during late 2016.
