Jumeirah is Bullish on Africa

Jumeirah Group is taking its luxe expertise to the island of Mauritius, with the debut of a resort slated to open in 2018.

Gerlad Lawless, Jumeirah's chief executive, tells the Financial Times that the company was weighing up launching a contemporary four-star hotel brand under a different name, starting in Dubai and totaling somewhere between 25 to 30 hotels.

Jumeirha has five hotels in development in China, and as Emirates opens up flights to Africa, Lawless is interested in developing on that continent.
